Position Summary
The Service Advisor acts as the primary point of contact for customers in the service department. This role is responsible for building trust, understanding customer needs, communicating service processes and timelines, and ensuring that vehicles are maintained and repaired to peak performance.
Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Engagement: Serve as the first point of contact for customers in person and by phone. Build trust, explain maintenance and repair needs, provide accurate estimates, and set clear expectations on timelines.

Service Productivity: Coordinate repair orders with technicians, ensuring all recommended services are properly documented and approved. Maintain workflow efficiency within the service drive.

Operational Support: Assist with scheduling appointments, processing work orders, and ensuring accurate billing and register transactions.

Policy Compliance: Follow all dealership policies related to cash, credit, checks, refunds, and returns. Work with management to resolve service issues and customer complaints.

Automotive Services Support: Explain routine services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake service, battery testing/replacement, and factory-recommended maintenance. Ensure vehicle inspections are completed thoroughly.

Safety Leadership: Reinforce adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures within the service department.

Communication & Collaboration: Act as a liaison between customers, technicians, and management to ensure transparency and satisfaction.

Shop Maintenance: Help maintain an organized and professional service drive and customer lounge.

Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support service operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Licensing: Valid Driver's License.

Experience: At least 1 year of experience in an automotive service environment preferred; prior sales or customer service experience strongly valued.

Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle systems, maintenance services, and repair processes.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate discounts, percentages, and commissions accurately.

Communication: Strong verbal communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work during days, evenings, and holidays as required.
